Landscape Architect / Senior Landscape Design and Sales

Competitive and established landscape firm looking for hard working, highly motivated landscape architect to add to our team of creative landscape designers and problem solvers.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years experience in landscape design and construction of large residential and commercial projects.
  • Experience in project bidding and designing/building of hardscapes and large water features.
  • Honest, results oriented, and must have a clear understanding of the principles of business profit and cost-effectiveness.
  • Must be organized and be able to communicate with clients, fellow employees, and have strong leadership skills.
  • Also desirable: Auto-CAD experience, problem solving skills, positive outlook, hands-on leadership style, customer contact experience.

Day to Day Duties include but not limited to:

  • Meeting with multiple clients daily for initial consultation or sales presentation.
  • Checking on jobs in progress.
  • Little to no cold-calling. All customer leads are provided.
  • Occasional mentoring of junior-level design associates.
  • Consult with Senior Purchaser for what materials will be needed for each job planned and in progress.

Landscape Construction Foreman

Seeking an experienced, knowledgeable foreman responsible for leading crew in the construction and installation of new residential and commercial landscapes, hardscapes, paver patios, ponds/water features, retaining walls, etc.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience with both residential and commercial landscape installation projects
  • Ability to efficiently operate skid loaders and trucks with trailers
  • Ability to read site plans
  • Good leadership skills and initiative
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and management
  • Must have a Commercial Driver’s License
  • Must have completed high school or equivalent

Day to Day Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Managing work schedules
  • Supervising crews in an efficient manner
  • Maintaining positive client relations while on site
  • Snow removal in the winter is a plus
  • Installing stone, pavers, trees, shrubs and perennials

This position requires experience and knowledge in the installation of various hardscapes such as: flagstone patios, brick paver patios, walkways and drives, block and natural stone retaining walls, outdoor kitchen elements, water features and fire pits.

Irrigation Specialist

Seeking someone with at least 1-year of experience in installing and fixing irrigation for residential or commercial properties.

 

Qualifications

  • Must be confident with irrigation repair and install skills
  • Must be knowledgeable in timers, clocks, valves, heads, wiring and be able to handle basic to advanced troubleshooting
  • Must have driver’s license and good driving record
  • Must have completed high school or equivalent
  • Must have at least one year of experience in this field

  • Off nursery ground every day

Qualifications

  • Design, plan and oversee $5,000-$10,000+ landscape projects
  • Using a wide range of up to date heavy equipment to assist in garden center operations and landscape installation.

Pay starts at $13.50+ per hour, plus commission and benefits

Landscape Maintenance Foreman

Seeking an experienced and knowledgeable foreman responsible for leading crews in the maintenance of residential and commercial landscaping and grounds maintenance.

 

Qualifications

  • Must be able to manage time efficiently
  • Must be able to motivate a crew and get the job done
  • Must be familiar with commercial mowing equipment
  • Must be able to correct/train entry-level landscape maintenance employees and show them the correct pruning practices.

Horticulture Expert

Seeking a plant specialist with a love for all things green.

 

Qualifications

  • Hardworking and motivated
  • Must have a horticulture background, such as an associate's degree or 3-4 years experience in the field
  • Know basic irrigation repair
  • Must be able to recognize and treat early symptoms of plant distress such as fungus, disease, insects, watering and exposure, etc.
  • Should have a Michigan Pesticide license
  • Willing to learn to operate a loader

Day to Day Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the expert care of our 12 acres of plants and trees
  • Pruning, fertilizing, spraying pesticides/herbicide, etc.
  • Upkeep of nursery activities such as: weeding, water, daily lifting, loading and unloading of material
  • Assisting retail customers with their selection of plant material

Truck Driver & Equipment Operator

Looking for a hard working, responsible individual to drive trucks to deliver items to jobs sites or clients. This is a local position so no long distance driving and the driver will be home every night.

 

Qualifications

  • Must have a Commercial Driver’s License, Class A
  • Some experience with multiple types of equipment such as a bull dozer, skid loader, large front end loader, and wood chipper.
  • Bonus if you can operate a shovel in the winter for snow crew

Day to Day Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Loading mulch into trucks
  • Driving local deliveries such as mulch, trees, shrubs
  • Helping out with landscape projects or around the nursery
